News: Ed Speleers to star in Golden Globe award winning DOWNTON ABBEY.
Ed is best known for playing the lead role in 20th Century Fox’s blockbuster ERAGON, with Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich. Ed was nominated by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA, for a Saturn Award for “Best Performance by a Younger Actor” for ERAGON, his professional debut.
Ed’s most recent films include lead roles in thriller A LONELY PLACE TO DIE, co-starring Melissa George and Sean Harris; and THE RIDE, co-starring Anthony LaPaglia – which was selected for the Tribeca Film Festival (2011).
Ed’s next releases (July 2012) are LOVE BITE – Ed plays the lead role opposite Timothy Spall, Jessica Szohr and Kierston Wareing; and METAMORPHOSIS for the National Gallery, co-starring Anna Friel, and directed by Luke White & Remi Weekes (aka ‘Tell No One’).
Ed is currently filming a new regular role in the Golden Globe award winning mini-series DOWNTON ABBEY.
